This isn't some multi-book series, you know. As fascinating as you may think it is, it's horrifying. The most I can do is try to move on from it, to find answers despite all logic pointing towards none.

I would say some kind of timer system — like an idle feature... but there's been no conclusive evidence to lead to that...
