[ She'd definitely hope to stop panic — this wasn't like giant birds. This was absolute madness that an entry-level science professor and high school teacher couldn't explain. Elizabeth hesitates, almost like she was getting scolded by a parent for not telling the truth too easily.
Rosalind was brilliant and she regrets not shooting that text to her. ]
Something along those lines. I wish I could show you, but they're happening every half day or so.
[Good god, and Rosalind immediately saves the picture to her phone. She wants to look at it on a laptop screen, where she can enlarge and examine at her leisure.]
Do you recognize the area within the fissure? Is there any noticeable effect in the environment surrounding these appearances?
It was down the street. In my neighbors yard. It was some... window. I guess? We threw things at it and my husband dared to punch and kick at it like a child.
Yes. He was, as always, acting before thinking. Like punching an immovable object. It wasn't more than a few yards, but over time... it shrunk. Like it was powered and the source was used up.
I'm not keen on the thought of these becoming a frequent occurrence... but, if it happens again, you're the first person I'm texting to get over here. Deal?
[ Jack was literally helpless?!?!?!? ]
I think it was focused more towards the center. I'm not a good aim. Is there a difference on edges versus the center?
I don't know yet. I don't know anything about it yet, but I propose to find out. I appreciate the text, as well as any other information you can give me on this.

[ It's the picture she sent to Jack, the one of her bathroom showing a view of the back yard of her neighbors house. ]

[To say the least. She's writing all this down, sketching little doodles of the photo as she does.]
Can you take a video next time? It'd be best if I could see it in person, but given you and I don't normally socialize in such a fashion . . .
By punching, do you mean the edges? Or the center? Did anything go through it when you threw things at it?
